Robert “Bobby” Holland was born on August 21, 1963, in Akron, Ohio. He was a graduate of Stow High School, Class of 1981. Bobby then joined the United States Marine Corps on December 13, 1982. He served in the Marines for 21 years, serving in many locations including Japan and the Philippines. In December of 1990 he became a dad and welcomed his pride & joy, Alysha Marie or "butt" as he called her. He retired from the Marine Corps in 2003. He then worked at Road and Rail, in Indiana until he was reconnected with his high school sweetheart, Lori. Bobby then moved back to his hometown, proposed to Lori, & they were married in 2009.
Bobby would be considered a full-time outdoorsman. Depending on the time of the year, you always knew where you would find Bobby – in a tree, on the lake, or on his bike. He enjoyed slingin’ fish on Lake Erie, fishing competitions, and catching enough fish to host fish fries for his friends and family. In the fall, he would count down the days until September for opening bow season. He would sit in a treestand, rain or shine, always waiting on “Mr. Big”. He was proud to share his love of the outdoors with his daughter, doubling up in a treestand and guiding her to shoot her first buck. If Bob wasn’t on a boat, or in a tree – he and Lori would be found out on the bike, cruising around with their friends and family. He always looked forward to Halloween, dressing up and riding around on the bikes. Bobby was also always down for a long road trip on his Harley with his cousin Tony, even riding as far as Texas.
"Papa Bob" took such pride in being a grandpa. He loved going to his grandchildren’s sporting events and cheering them on. It also brought him so much joy to hear that his newest grandson looked just like him.
Bobby had such a great sense of humor and could create a laugh out of any situation. He especially loved using that sense of humor to play pranks on his stepsons and would go through great lengths to pull off a joke on them.
For those who knew him, knew he loved nothing more than his wife, his family, his dog and his friends. His legacy of life will continue through all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed by all.
He is survived by his wife Lori Holland; daughter Alysha (Matt) Bowman; stepsons Brandon (Stephanie) Fischbach, Blake Fischbach, Blair (Cassie) Fischbach; sisters Linda Holland, Liz (Krista) Holland; father Lloyd Holland; grandchildren Bryce, Briella, Alexis, Maddox, Dallas, Brock. Scarlett, Hudson, Savannah, Kittsen & Carter.
He is preceded in death by his mother Eloise (Hank) Kenimond, sisters Mona Williams and Joanne Kubiak, and grandson Ryker Bowman.
