Robert Trout

Robert Dean Trout, 81, died March 18, 2005. Mr. Trout was born in Akron and had resided in Cuyahoga Falls since 1949. He graduated from the University of Akron in 1949 with a BA in Journalism and a Minor in Political Science. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls and was a Veteran of WW2, having served with the U. S. Army. His work accomplishments were originally a newspaper reporter for the Cuyahoga Falls Reporter and then for Goodyear Aerospace as a Technical Writer. He served on the Library Board, helped organize Metro Transit and served on the Governor's Transportation Committee. He had been Service Director for the City of Cuyahoga Falls, Administrative Ass't to County Engineer, Ralph Van Brimmer, a Bailiff for Judge Pike, taught at the Wooster Business College and retired from the Southern Ohio College as chair of the Business Department. He went into politics, ran several political campaigns, served on the original charter committee for Cuyahoga Falls and was elected to Summit County Council retiring from the Human Services Jobs Program.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Jo and is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy W. (nee Moore); sons and daughters, Sandra Trout of Arlington, VA, Robert (Rose) Trout of Stow, Dean (Annette) Trout of Pewaukee, WI and Dorothy (Louis) Rede of San Antonio, TX and grandchildren, Lizzie, Allie, Austin and Patrick Trout.

Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:30 pm Tuesday in The First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls 245 Portage Trail Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, Rev. Marvin Brown and Rev. Susan Lausch officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to The First United Methodist Church Gifts and Memorials Fund.
