Roy Burnett also affectionately known as “Buckeye” by some passed peacefully surrounded by friends and family Sunday evening August 14th, 2022. Most importantly Roy liked to say, “always smile and be nice to everyone.” In life he loved basketball and started at center for the Cuyahoga Falls Black Tigers before graduating. He was an avid outdoorsman who flew airplanes and had his pilot’s license, raced dirt bikes in hare scrambles and won occasionally, scuba dived on Spanish galleons looking for treasure & loved boating, hunting and golf to name a few. Half jack of all trades, half Indiana Jones (at least to his son). He lived life to the fullest. He worked and retired from Chrysler Corp. after 40 years. A lifelong resident of Cuyahoga Falls and Stow. He often spoke of his love of growing up in the area.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 42 years, Fran Burnett (Roncella); children, Brad Burnett and Courtney Burnett (Mathieu Jodoin), sisters, Sandra (Terry) Kundert and Cheryl (Dennis) Paul, and nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to http://cancer.org/HopeLodgeClevelandGive.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Roy's life will be announced at a later date.
