Ruby Summers

CUYAHOGA FALLS – Ruby C. Summers, 93, passed away September 14, 2018.

She was born in Chicago, IL and resided in Cuyahoga Falls for the past 68 years. Ruby was a 1942 graduate of Tallmadge High School. She worked for Goodyear during WWII and as a secretary for 1st Christian Church of Cuyahoga Falls. Ruby was active in the Falls Cirrhosis Club and Good Neighbors. She was a member of the 1st Christian Quilters Club and Kappa Women’s Group and held various leadership positions in the church including being one of the 1st female Deacons. Ruby enjoyed needle work, knitting and donated many pairs of mittens to under privileged children.

Preceded in death by her husband, Donald; and son, Dale; she is survived by her children, David (Barbara), Patricia and Bruce; granddaughter, Olivia; sister, Dorothy Alexander and brother, Lester Maple.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday September 19, 2018 at the 1st Christian Church 230 Stow Ave. Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. In lieu of other remembrances memorials may be made to the church. Services entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
