Ruth Elizabeth Loss

Ruth Elizabeth (Bowen) Loss, 91, passed away peacefully at home April 24, 2025, in Stow, Ohio.

Born on September 26, 1933, Ruth grew up in a loving family and attended Cuyahoga Falls High School. She sang beautifully and performed in many musicals and shows. She loved being a majorette, leading many parades and marching bands.

Throughout her life, she worked in various roles, but her true calling and greatest joy was as a caregiver. She found immense fulfillment in helping to raise her grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Katie Bowen; brother Wayne (Juanita) Bowen; and sisters Jeannine (Ray) Genovese, Joyce Howard and former husband Gene Loss.

Ruth's deep love for her family was the cornerstone of her life. She is lovingly survived by her brother Jim (Carolyn) Bowen; sons Don (Mary) Loss, Mike (Donna) Loss, and Jim Loss; daughters Lori Loss and Lisa (Jeff) Zaucha. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Melissa (Steve) Neumeyer, Jacob (Erin) Loss, Hannah (Matt) Springer, Kyle (Jen) Tarter, Kaila Tarter, Christina (Jim) Eisenberger, Branden (Sara) Loss, Katie Goedecke, Rylee, Makenna and Brayden Zaucha. Ruth was also blessed with 14 great-grandchildren: Brian and Ethan Loss; Jena (Hunter), Jaden, Julia, and Josiah Neumeyer; Gracie, Quinn, and Kenzie Springer; Nathan and Gavin Lewis; and Benjamin, Audrey, and Bowen Eisenberger. Special family members Ruth Woodhall, Kim Loss and Karen Ketterman also held a cherished place in her heart as well as her Godparents Bernie and Janet Zaucha.

In the last two years she would often sit in her white recliner with Buster by her side watching NASCAR, the Browns, Buckeyes, Hallmark movies and Young & the Restless.

We would like to extend a special thank you to the Cleveland Clinic Hospice team, especially Tammy and Noel for providing the very best care and support for Ruth and her “pit crew” Lori, Lisa, Katie for the last nine weeks.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on May 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church 3179 Kent Road, Stow Ohio 44224.
