Ruth Wimer

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Ruth A. Wimer, 89, passed away May 1, 2017. She was born in Akron and resided in Cuyahoga Falls. Ruth graduated from North High School, going on to receive a nursing degree from Akron City School of Nursing. She was a devoted wife and mother, who loved being surrounded by her family.

Preceded in death by her husband, Don; daughter, Linda Ferrante; sisters, Helen Sullivan, Mary Nelson and Janice Edwards; she is survived by her daughters, Susan Wimer, Deidre Glenn (Gary), Tammy Wimer, Kathy Sangrik (Keith) and Michelle Tonkin (Bryan); grandchildren, Jeffrey, Brock, Rachel, Taylor, Nicole, Tori, Daniel and Joshua; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Sloan; sisters, Margie Buzzi and Carol Smith (Don).

Friends may call 2 hours prior to a 1 PM funeral service on Saturday May 6, 2017 in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. In lieu of other remembrances memorials may be made to the ALS Association 1275 K St. NW Ste. 250 Washington D.C. 20005.
