Teri Edens

New Franklin- Our beautiful Teri Lynn (Hausman) Edens passed away on Friday October 1st, 2021, after a hard fight to stay earthside. Born to the late William and Caroline Hausman; Teri was raised in Cuyahoga Falls and resided in New Franklin. She was a 1983 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls Highschool. Teri is survived by her fun-loving husband Christopher Edens, married 35 years, as well as her adult offspring Alec Edens and Kaitlyn (Olivia) Orahoske; father-in-law John Edens; beloved sister to Shannon (Blaine) Hylton, Pamela (Ken) Friend, and Cynthia (Kevin) Nakagawa; cherished her niece Sarah Bell and will be forever missed by her beloved cousin Julie (Hausman) Clark.

Teri would speak of her family’s history as booze runners and farmers after journeying to America on the Carpathia. She loved her familial history, and it ran through her veins as she took on life with feisty passion. Teri’s humor was literal and wholesome. She was also sentimental and private. Quite like these pair of turtle knickknacks she displayed; unsuspecting and realistic until you flip them over to find them adorned with biological unmentionables. Teri had a quirky innocent nature, and she quite frankly could not care what people thought about her. She kept an amazing garden and hardly ever killed a plant. She loved her family and homemaking was a superpower of hers; cooking resourceful meals for loved ones and perhaps no one will ever be able to replicate her gravy recipe. She was also an entrepreneur. Teri was the fun mom who supported all the ridiculous adventures us kids endeavor. Whether it be carpooling to a concert or traveling across state lines. With no judgement, she was there to listen in confidence when they were in a pickle too. She loved rock music and creating art. Teri adored her animals and especially her Pitbull mix named Kash (moose lips) who was rescued with the help of daughter-in-law Olivia. Throughout this rich life Teri held on to sweet and sad memories: carrying melancholy with her. This could be why she loved that Smashing Pumpkins album. Though, it could have been Billy Corgan. Teri taught us to accept life and to be ourselves. To remember that everyone is different, and we all need the same thing; to feel at peace.

Cremation has taken place and will follow with a celebration of life on a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
