Terry L. Nagy, 75, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on October 12, 2025. He was born on January 13, 1950, to the late Steve and Pearl Nagy.
During his 15-year challenge with cancer, Terry’s faith never wavered, and his courage and strength inspired everyone around him.
Terry was a man defined by integrity, hard work, and an unwavering love for his family. A caring husband and best friend to his wife, Candy, he was her steady source of support and strength. Together, they created a home where love, hard work, and family were at the heart of everything. To his children and grandchildren, he was a constant source of guidance, humor, and love.
Terry could fix or build just about anything and was always the first to offer a helping hand. His home and yard reflected the same pride and care he brought to everything he did. Known for having the most immaculate lawn in the neighborhood, Terry took genuine joy in the details, whether he was perfecting his landscaping, polishing a car, or tinkering with his model trains. He loved being outdoors. Terry enjoyed fishing, exploring the trails of the Summit MetroParks, and vacationing at the beach.
An exceptional athlete, Terry’s accomplishments on the field were remarkable. He was a proud graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School, where his talent in both baseball and football earned him a place in the school’s Hall of Fame. He continued his athletic career at Baldwin Wallace University on a full football scholarship, playing all four years and earning the respect of his teammates and coaches. Terry spent 30 years teaching science at Sill Middle School in his hometown, Cuyahoga Falls.
Terry’s life was defined by purpose, devotion to family, and quiet strength. He will be deeply missed, and his love and example will continue to guide those who knew and loved him.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Pearl Nagy, and brother, Gary Nagy. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Candy Nagy; children, Justin Williams, Jeni (Dave White) Pekala, Mandy Smith, Amy (Andrew) Cruse, Terry Nagy, and Cory Nagy; brother, Steve (Pat) Nagy; sister Lynne (Matt) Rice; grandchildren, Max, Owen, Luke, Morgan, Austin, and Chase; brother-in-law, Sam; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17, from 3-5 pm, followed by a brief memorial service at 5 pm at CLIFFORD-SHOEMAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1930 Front Street, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.
