Troy Finegan

Troy L. Finegan, 60, went home to be with the Lord on December 12, 2021.

Troy was born on August 4th, 1961 in Akron to the late George and Edna Finegan. Throughout his childhood, Troy was always surrounded by amazing family and friends. Troy would always share stories of his childhood growing up in North Hill with eight other siblings and great friends that he made. Troy graduated from North High School in 1979. After graduation, he worked as a producer manager at local produce stores. Throughout the years he built up an impressive resume. Troy was very skillful in a variety of areas but he has always been a gifted pianist/organist and woodworker. In his twenties, Troy helped build a church as a carpenter apprentice but also was an organist at a church. As the years would go on, he never lost his passion for both crafts. His woodworking skills will shine bright forever with amazing pieces of work like his grandfather clock and the wood working he continued to do around his beloved home. His soul will live forever in memories of loved ones gathered around the piano to hear him play everything from hymns to Celtic and even Christmas carols. Troy would eventually find himself in a managerial role with Levin Furniture. Throughout his twenty years at Levins, he would make countless life long friends that felt like an extended family to him and his kids. Troy also had a contagious sense of humor that would make an entire room of strangers feel as though they’ve known him since their childhood. Through this, if you were lucky enough to call Troy a friend, you would know the extent of the caring, loving and nurturing side of him. The memories built through friendships will forever be held by those whom he shared a friendship with.

Troy will be missed by his brothers and sisters, Lou, Denny, Phyllis, Diane, Bryan and Charmaine but will meet again with his brothers Stewart, Jeep and his parents. Troy always had a profound love for his family which was shown through daily phone calls with many of his siblings and always being there to help in anyway. Memories that will last eternity will be family euchre games, brotherly golf matches, and many memories shared with his nieces and nephews. Troy will also be incredibly missed by his children, Keagan, Rory and his beloved daughter Riley. Spending time and energy on his kids was what made our Dad an absolute irreplaceable and incredible father. Our father taught us incredible life lessons which included to always be hard working, respectful, presentable, understanding, and strong. He taught us that life isn’t linear, there are ups and downs, but as long as we have our family, nothing can stop us. Yet, the most valuable lesson of all was to cherish every waking moment of life because “life is too short”. Memories that will be cherished forever will be amazing trips, many hours on the golf course, home cooked family meals, and so many more. Our dad took every opportunity he had to spend time with his kids and we are truly blessed to say that he did
