William "Greg" Blue, 77, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026, in Henderson, Nevada.
Born in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, Greg was the son of Daniel P. Blue and Nancy G. Veraar. He spent many years in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, where he built a life centered on family and community. In recent years, he relocated to Henderson, Nevada, to be closer to his daughters.
Greg graduated from Kent State University in 1971 and went on to enjoy a successful career with HD Supply, where he worked for 30 years before retiring as a Plant Manager.
Above all, Greg was a devoted husband & father. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Janice Blue; his daughters, Laura Blue (Eric Olsen) of Thousand Oaks, California, and Barbara Blue of Las Vegas, Nevada. His family was the center of his life, and he cherished every opportunity to spend time with them.
Greg found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was an avid reader and gardener, enjoyed hiking the trails of Summit Metro Parks, swimming at Water Works, going to Front Street festivals, and looked forward to traveling on Sandals vacations with Jan. He was also an active member of the Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium and proudly served his community as an election official.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cuyahoga Falls School Foundation and Alumni Association (CFSFAA) or the Summit Metro Parks Foundation, organizations that reflect Greg's lifelong appreciation for education, community, and the outdoors.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will take place on July 29,2026 from 4pm to 6pm with a celebration of life to follow. Both the visitation and the celebration of life will be held at the Clifford Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front Street Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221. Private burial of the urn will take place at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date.
