William Wessel

NORTH CANTON -William G. "Bill" Wessel, 81, died January 22, 2006. Mr. Wessel was born in Lakewood and had resided in Cuyahoga Falls for 46 years before moving to North Canton. He had been a sales representative of Metropolitan Life Ins. for 21 years and previously for Western-Southern Life, was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary and was a Veteran of WW2 having served with the U. S. Army/Air Force. Bill graduated from Lakewood High School in 1943, attended Dyke Spencerian Business College for 2 years, was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and was a member of American Legion Charles Faust Post 281. He loved children, adored all lovely wonderful creations of God, was a devoted family man and had been an avid golfer in the Tuesday Seniors League at Brookledge.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy K; children, Steven M. (Connie) Wessel of N. Canton, Sherry A. Wessel of Cincinnati, Karen J. (David) Watson of Jacksonville, FL, William S. (Livvy) Wessel of San Jose, CA and Lori K. Wessel of Cleveland; grandchildren, Abigail, Emily, Nathaniel, Nicholas and Samantha Rose; sister, Helen Kohl of Avon, OH and brother, James Wessel of N. Canton, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Rose and brother, John.
There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be conducted at 10:00 am Saturday in Immaculate Heart of Mary. In lieu of other remembrances, the Family requests memorials be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Father McIntyre Fund 1905 Portage Tr. Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223 or The Humane Society of Greater Akron 4904 Quick Rd. Peninsula, OH 44264.
